Group: Processing Grief through Art

Group: Processing Grief through Art

This group is an invitation to allow and give expression to all our emotions, thoughts and feelings around loss through art-making. We will use drawing, painting, clay-making and other mediums to invite each person’s unique expression while offering and inviting acceptance of our experiences, our feelings and our creations. Using this time to tap into what lies below the surface and being witnessed in a space without the usual social expectations can help us discover the strength and dignity within our grief journey.

Day and Time: Saturday afternoons (TBD)

Membership:  The group is currently enrolling new members.

Contact: Register by phone at 408-963-6694 ext. 467 or email at cchurch@processes.org.

Cynthia M. Church is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#15026) training at the Process Therapy Institute under the supervision of Svetlana Kreimer.  She has been a caregiver for 25 years and is involved with Hospice. She is also an artist who respects that it’s the process of making art that matters, the expression of ourselves, and what comes up in our imaginations and emotions while in the process of creating.

I feel strongly about offering space for the allowance for us to experience loss and grief, perhaps terror, and for the discovery of layers of ourselves that lie hidden because the world doesn’t want to hear it.  Have a place to tell it… and for yourself to feel it, to experience yourself and your own emotions and to ‘be there’ for yourself.
