Archived: December 2023 Free Community Workshop: The Gut-Brain Axis: Improving Gut Health in Supporting Optimal Well-Being
The human gut microbiome is comprised of a vast collection of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. The makeup of the gut microbiome influences human physical and emotional health via the gut-brain axis. A flourishing gut microbiome contributes to better health and general well-being. Modern-day living presents several stressors to a balanced gut microbiome, including stress, chemical overload, and less-nutrient-dense food, all of which hinder our bodies from creating the optimal building blocks to support our well-being, and can increase inflammation and dis-ease. This presentation will provide psychoeducation on the gut-brain axis and a variety of accessible and relevant intervention strategies.
